New Vitae Wellness and Recovery was honored to be a Silver Sponsor and participate in the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention’s (AFSP) Out of Darkness walk on Sunday, October 6th.  The Lehigh Valley Parkway event welcomed around two thousand participants, offering hope and community to those who have experienced the loss of a family member or friend to suicide.

The Greater Lehigh Valley walk will help to raise funding for research, public policy advocacy, and support for survivors of suicide.  Various guests were on-hand to help commemorate the day, including the Scott Marshall Band, US Representative Susan Wild, and Pennsylvania State Representative Mike Schlossberg, who offered encouragement to the large group of walkers.  Participants also visited various booths for more information and small gifts before undertaking all or a part of the 5 kilometer circuit.

New Vitae Wellness and Recovery residents enjoyed sharing in the day’s activities and reported feeling as if they had a positive impact on this important event.  We wish to thank AFSP, all of the event organizers, and everyone who participated with us!
