New Vitae Wellness and Recovery was pleased to partake in the “Overcoming Stigma: Finding Hope for Mental Health” community event on November 8th, 2018. Hosted by Chestnut Hill Church U.C.C. and St. John’s United Church of Christ, participants had the opportunity to ask questions about behavioral health concerns. Attendees engaged in “Breakout” sessions focused on Perseverance, Bullying, Survival, and Lifecycle issues, with the opportunity to ask questions of a variety of clinical specialists.
Keynote speaker State Representative Michael Schlossberg engaged the audience with a review of the challenges associated with behavioral health stigma, calling for participants to understand the challenges associated with a behavioral health diagnosis. Following the breakout sessions, Lisa Cozzi, the Director of Crisis Intervention, Information, and Referral for Lehigh County, had the opportunity to further review the need for community support for individuals and families facing these challenges.
William Leiner, Marketing Coordinator for New Vitae Wellness and Recovery, enjoyed meeting with the attendees and listening to the evening’s speakers. We support the effort to eliminate behavioral health stigma and offer hope to individuals and families impacted by behavioral health diagnoses.
