LIMEPORT, Pa., (January 2019) – New Vitae Wellness and Recovery is proud to announce that it is celebrating its 35th year of service to the community, providing a variety of residential behavioral health and outpatient services.
“We are incredibly proud to be celebrating our 35th anniversary,” said New Vitae co-founder and owner Adam Devlin. “We are continuing to build recovery communities and offer person-centered services for our residents and neighbors, and are so appreciative of our dedicated, caring staff.”
New Vitae Wellness and Recovery traces its roots to 1983, when Devlin’s mother, Anne Mills, MSW, recognized a need for residential supports for veterans. Additionally, state hospital closures at the time caused people who needed support to lose their beds and long-term treatment. Mills’ experience in social work ultimately led to the combination of behavioral health services with specialized residential settings to ensure peer-to-peer and community connections. Further development, including supports for individuals with brain injury and substance use disorders, followed quickly after.
To mark the anniversary, New Vitae leadership elected to celebrate by giving back to employees. In September, staff enjoyed lunch from Chewy’s Food Truck and dessert from Sweet Pea Ice Cream, courtesy of New Vitae. Employees had the opportunity to build camaraderie with peers across the organization and entered raffles for prizes, including tickets to a Philadelphia Eagles game and an Apple iPad. Every employee also received a beach chair emblazoned with the organization’s logo.
“The celebrations for our Philadelphia, Lehigh, and Bucks County sites were a great way to mark this momentous occasion with staff across the organization,” said New Vitae President and CEO Judith Yanacek. “We feel very fortunate to be able to offer a continuum of residential and other behavioral health services and are committed to continuing in our tradition of individualized supports. We honor the early work of Anne Mills and look forward to many more years of supportive care, offering services designed to assist those seeking excellent behavioral healthcare.”
