New Mural Completed at Our Philadelphia Program: A Celebration of Civic Engagement

We are honored to announce the completion of a vibrant new mural at New Vitae Wellness and Recovery’s Philadelphia program, marking a collaborative effort to inspire community involvement and civic pride. Created as part of the Philly Votes project, the mural was designed to highlight the importance of civic engagement and to serve as a reminder of the power of voting and community connection.

This impactful mural was crafted by local artist Tai Corrienté and her talented team of assisting artists. With vibrant colors and powerful imagery, the mural captures themes of legacy, unity, and hope, symbolizing the resilience and strength of our community. Through a blend of colors and symbolism, it invites viewers to reflect on the shared responsibility we all have in building a brighter future.

Selection and Collaboration

The wall at our Philadelphia program was chosen by the Philly Votes project as a prominent location for this inspiring artwork. This project, led by Mural Arts Philadelphia and curated by Conrad Benner of Streets Dept, seeks to highlight meaningful spaces across the city with murals that reflect the values of civic engagement and the legacy of voting. We are grateful to have our space become a part of this significant initiative.

The Dedication Celebration

The dedication of the mural was celebrated with a block-style event. New Vitae staff, residents, community members and local commissioners joined in the celebration, enjoying the opportunity to witness the official unveiling and to connect with others in the neighborhood. It was a wonderful gathering that underscored the power of community and the mural’s inspiring message.

Our Thanks to All Involved

This project would not have been possible without the dedication and hard work of many individuals and organizations. We extend our heartfelt thanks to Tai Corrienté and her assisting artists for bringing this vision to life with passion and creativity. Special thanks go to Philly Votes, Mural Arts Philadelphia, Show Up Strong, Conrad Benner, and Streets Dept for making this mural possible and for choosing our location as part of this meaningful project.

We look forward to seeing this mural inspire our residents, staff, and all who pass by to reflect on the strength of community and the impact of civic engagement for years to come.
